Enriched in Every way

“For in him you have been enriched in every way – in all your speaking and in all your knowledge because our testimony about Christ was confirmed in you” (1 Corinthians 1:5-6 GNB)

I have heard many people say that the church is a sleeping giant and I wouldn’t disagree with them. There is a an enormously great potential endowed on the church—both as individual members and as a corporate body but the church seems to be daily diminishing to a state helplessness. This is in contrast to the early church which knew and utilized their potential fully that they were able to turn the world around. The church indeed is a giant, with much power endowed on her, much more to turn the world up-side-down as did the early church.

Writing to the Corinthian believers, Paul having seen the Corinthian church was digressing reminded them of the incredible power they have in Christ: “For in him you have been enriched in every way – in all your speaking and in all your knowledge because our testimony about Christ was confirmed in you” (1 Corinthians 1:5-6).

The church has been enriched with a greater knowledge to discern and prophetically speak boldly to the world. Like Prophet Nathan rebuked and exhorted King David, the church has the powers to rebuke and exhort all political leaders of our time. The church has been enriched to heal, comfort, teach and preach the Gospel of Salvation to all nations.

As individual members and a corporate body of Christ, we need to rise to our enrichment. We need to proactively use this enrichment endowed to us by Christ to have the banner of Christ lifted high in all nations.

Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus Christ, continuously enrich me by your Holy Spirit that I may ever grow to a full realization of my potentials in Christ Jesus. Amen!
